Food Trip Friday # 8

It's been a while since I visited this blog, and I'm so sorry for that.

Anyway, I promise to catch up with my posts here and for a start, this post is for FTF meme that I so loved :D

This post is special because it's for the 2nd year blogversary of FTF and since this is special, I'll be featuring also something special...tadahh

This is the cake that I made for my son's 1st birthday last Saturday. I know the cake can't still be compared to the works of a pro, but nevertheless what makes this cake special is mommy made it with LOVE and EFFORT. I spent nights cutting the letters and the designs. The fondant is prepared 2 days prior to the baking of the cake. And on the night before the party, mommy didn't sleep, kneading the fondant, decorating and prepping the cake for the party.
Top view, spelling my son's name
The cake's base is Choco Moist, with chocolate Ganache as the filling and frosted with buttercream. I used marshmallow fondant to cover and decorate the cake.
Cake inside :D
And that's it! Once the cake is sliced, it never reach the next day :D

Happy 2nd year Food Trip Friday! More years to come!

Food Trip Friday # 7

Hubby is fond of Pasta in Pesto Sauce. Whenever he's craving for one, he will told me, "Hon, luto ka ng pesto." I am a pasta lover as well, that's why I always have pasta, in my cupboard, so that whenever Hubby or Sam request for one, I always have ingredients on hand.

Food Trip Friday # 6

My little boy just turned 11 months last March 1, and I'm happy that I was able to make him a cake. I know it's not that much good looking, since it is my first attempt on fondant decorating with only fondant cutter as a tool :D. Still very proud I've pulled it through.

Food Trip Friday # 5

I missed making this for my Sam. It's one of her favorites, whenever I make one, she's there in the kitchen watching over me. She even eat the macaroni before I have the chance to put the sauce and bake it. I hope this weekend I can make this for her,if not, hoping to make an easy pasta substitute.

My very own bake macaroni - Fifth post for Food Trip Friday.

Happy food tripping everyone!

Last Feb 14, we had our dinner in TGIF. It's our first time to dine here. We enjoyed the food but it's a bit pricey.

TGIF's Three-For-All, a combination of buffalo wings, fried mozzarella, loaded Potato skin  with marinara sauce, blue cheese dip and sour cream with green onion dressing plus celery sticks @ Php 695.
Friday's Pork Adobo, their very own version of Fillipino's famous adobo @ Php 435
Seafood and Herb Pasta, creamy fettuccine with pesto topped with mussels, shrimp and squid @ Php 465
The food is yummy and we have some left for take-out.

Food Trip Friday # 2

I've been busy this past few days for my daughter's birthday. I tried to bake her a cake, the presentation is just an OK for a newbie like me but the taste they said is a thumbs up,
Sam's birthday cake, made with Love by Me :D
Cupcakes
The base cake is a recipe I adapted from A Mother's Home Journal. This is so far the best recipe that I adapted in my few attempts of baking. Here is the recipe.
                                                                 Choco Moist Cake
Ingredients:

4 cups all purpose flour
3 cups sugar
9 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp instant coffee
1 tbsp baking soda
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
3 cups water
4 tbsp (1/4 cup) vinegar
vanilla

Procedure:
Preheat oven to 175 degree Celsius.
Mix all the dry ingredients well.
Pour in the liquid ingredients, and mix until free from lumps.
                Pour into a cake pan
Bake for 40 to 60 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean when inserted.

This is my entry for today's FTF. Happy FTF Everyone!
